Mastering Project Management with MS Project 2010
Our training has been redesigned and improved to ensure that our participants will not only understand the theory of best practices Project Management but will also ensures that they will go away with hands-on practical knowledge, given them the confidence that they need to lead and manage projects for success. In achieving this, we have incorporated a 2-day hands-on project practical class known as: Building Project with Microsoft Project as part of the course.
The course in broken down into two separate modules as follows:
- Module one: Project Management Prep class
In this module, we will discuss the best practices of professional project management. This module will also prepare your participants for the PMP exam. - Module Two: Building Projects with Microsoft Project 2010.
In this module, participants will be engaged in a hands-on, practical lab session of a project simulation using Microsoft Project Software, where they will build a project management plan from beginning to the end, manage tasks, resources, cost, and apply all the methodologies of PMI.
Participants will use the knowledge; tools and techniques gained from the first module and apply them in building a formal and realistic project management plan. In this way all participants will immediately gain the confidence they need to be on the go on the job as professional project manager and ready to face the PMI exam.

NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
The NEBOSH National Diploma has been recognised for many years as a leading qualification in the field of health and safety in the UK, providing the specialist knowledge and understanding, combined with the application of the expertise required to undertake a career as a Safety and Health Practitioner. The NEBOSH International Diploma will fulfil the same objectives in other countries around the world.
The NEBOSH International Diploma is the qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals building directly upon the foundation of knowledge provided by the NEBOSH International General Certificate. It is designed to provide students with the expertise – wherever in the world they may be working – required to undertake a career as a safety and health practitioner. It also provides a sound basis for progression to an MSc or more specialist study (such as the NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management.
Project Management Academy runs two sessions of NEBOSH National Diploma Classes in a calendar year, first batch candidates are registered early in the year while second batch commences the course later in the mid year from second week in July. How it works
Open Distance Learning?
Distance learning means that you study on your own, either at home or wherever suits you. Our unique and leading distance learning is called “Open Learning” and it is operated by our dedicated Open Learning Center - County Business School.
It’s ‘open’ because you learn at your own time, at home or wherever you choose by reading, watching or listening to material supplied, doing course activities and assignments with regular support from your tutor. Once you decide on what course you want to study, you may go ahead to select your chosen course and complete the registration procedure by completing our online application form. Your application will be reviewed within 5business day and a course adviser will contact you if you application is approved or declined.
“Learn at your own pace, time and place”...
If your application is approved, you will be advised to complete the course registration and make your payment. Payments can be made online using ATM cards with interswitch logo. Once you complete your registration, a registration confirmation will be sent to your email and your course material will be sent to your provided address.
Note that you must study on your own and prepare to write your exam. The examinations are written on fixed date at the British Council in Lagos. Scripts are then collated and sent to ICM in London for marking. The results are released 4weeks after completion of the exams. Certificates are then distributed to successful candidates by ICM from London.

Our open learning is supported and you’re never alone. We are a strong community, and our students enjoy individual tutor support from faculties. You’ll enjoy full support throughout your studies, with a tutor to guide, counsel and offer comprehensive feedback on your coursework. Your tutor can be contacted by phone or online, and will lead group tutorials and seminars.
Support is also offered by other staff and by fellow students at tutorials, or as part of the global community of CBS students who can be reached through online forums.

Where will I write my exams and when will I receive my results?
All Exams are written at the British Council in Lagos. It can take up to 12 weeks to mark, moderate and process your answer scripts from the date they are received by ICM.
By what date must I submit my exam entry form?
Examination closing dates appear on this website. Your entry forms and fees should be sent to reach us no later than eight weeks before the date of the first examination you wish to enter for.
What is the equivalency of ICM qualifications?
ICM courses can provide students with access to a number of levels of a degree programme – view ICM’s Qualifications Equivalency Table to find out more. Every year, ICM graduates gain entry into universities in North America, the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Western Europe, the Far East, South East Asia and Australasia. For those wishing to study in the UK there are more than 100 different institutions to which they can apply. Who recognises ICM Awards?
ICM enjoys global brand recognition based on consistently high examination standards. The Awards are recognised and accepted by universities and employers around the world.
How do I register as a student?
With effect from January 2010, all Professional and Single Subject candidates are required to become Registered Student Members. Download the ICM Student Registration Form for full instructions.
Where can I study?
You can study at any ICM Approved Centre. ICM Approved Centres must display a current certificate in the school. Ask to see it.
How long has ICM been operating?
The Institute of Commercial Management was founded by Dr Alistair Somerville Ford in 1979. For more than 30 years it has offered practical and progressive programmes of study – coupled with unique membership opportunities – to both students and business professionals.
Who is in charge of ICM?
The Chairman is Dr Alistair Somerville Ford and the Chief Executive is Professor Tom Thomas.
Do you supply model answers?
We don’t, for a number of reasons. Firstly, all questions are based on a set text and the text will contain all of the information you will need. Secondly, with examinations being held four times each year, in up to 200 subject areas, it would be almost impossible to produce 6,400 answers each year!
Can I claim any subject exemptions?
It is possible, if you hold any recognised Award from another recognised Professional or Examining Board. The Exemptions Committee would require the following documentation before processing an application from you:
Photocopies of all certificates awarded, together with certified copies of your results. In some cases, you may be required to submit a copy of the syllabus for the Award you hold.
Upon receipt of your application, your request would be assessed. As soon as the Exemptions Committee have made a decision you will be advised in writing. You should always enclose a covering letter with your documentation and ensure that you have provided us with your current postal address.

Where can I obtain recommended textbooks for a subject?
Each ICM course comes with a list of recommended reading texts. Consult your course advisor for further details. If you can’t buy them locally, you can order them from County Business School. The title of each main set text is shown on the subject syllabus.How do I contact ICM?

Can I get my exam results online?
We do not post students’ exam results online. It can take up to 12 weeks to mark, moderate and process your answer scripts from the date they are received by ICM. You will then be able to receive your results either from our centre or through the post to the address you have supplied.
How much are the fees?
Standard ICM examination fees are £20 per subject and are payable through ICM-approved teaching centres or directly to ICM itself. Please note: There is a £5 administration charge for payment of fees by credit card.
What level of membership is right for me?
Although there are clear and very specific entry requirements for each grade of membership, the Institute recognises that not all individuals share the same educational or academic background, sector knowledge, level of responsibility or work experience and, as a result, there are a number of different routes to membership. Contact your course advisor for available courses and see which one is right for you.
Can I defer my examination to another exam series? / Deferrals?
There is a fee of GBP £10.00 per subject should you wish to defer your examinations to another series. If you are unable to undertake your examinations, it is essential you advise ICM before the appropriate examination date, otherwise the full entry fee of GBP £20.00 will be applicable. Should you be deferring through ill health, you will need to attach a copy of your medical certificate to the new entry form. Please note you may only defer examinations on one occasion and thereafter you will need to pay the full entry fee of GBP £20.00.
How do I obtain a replacement certificate?
Replacement certificates are available at a fee of GBP £10.00 per certificate. Please forward your request including your Student Registration Number, £10.00 GBP together with your current postal address and indicate which certificate is required to: info@icm.ac.uk.

Course policy
Let's Get Serious!
At Project Management Academy, we do not want to waste your time and money. While we aspire to provide you with the best management education, contents and tools to pass your exam and also enhance your knowledge, we do also expect that the participants do their part. We expect participants to adhere to our specific instructions and also participate actively in the class in which we have designed to maximise learning in the shortest possible time. Our courses are strictly tailored and controlled in terms of quality from relevant bodies in the United States. We have developed courses in accordance with International standards and world-wide best practices.
Confirmation
An email confirmation will be sent to you after you have registered for our class. Subsequently, you will receive a confirmation letter which will indicate the final step in class registration and participation. We advise that you read your confirmation letter carefully to obtain details of the course and class that you will be attending.
Register Early
We encourage you to register early to book your place at our classes. Our classes are limited in size and in the number of frequency. Please note that our classes are usually fully booked about 2-3 weeks prior to its scheduled date. You may get benefits/discounts for early registration
Payment
Payment for all courses must be received at least one week before the course begins. We appreciate your consideration to pay as early as possible to avoid any payment issues.
Cancellation Policy
- If you cancel a course 30 calendar days prior to the first day of the course, a N1,000.00 cancellation fee will be charged for each registration. You will be refunded the amount of your tuition paid minus the N1000.00.
- If you cancel a course between 30 calendar days and 10 calendar days prior to the first day of the course, a N5,000.00 cancellation fee will be charged for each registration. You will be refunded the amount of your tuition paid minus N5,000.00.
- If you cancel within 7 calendar days of the start of the course, a N10,000.00 cancellation fee will be charged for each registration. You will be refunded the amount of your tuition paid minus N10, 000.00.
Should in the unforseen event that Project Management Academy finds it necessary to cancel a session, the participant will be informed as early as possible for a class re-scheduling. Alternatively, a full refund of paid tuition will be made. Any expenses incurred by the participant in the registration process or for those which is over and above the class fee will be borne entirely by the participant himself. Project Management Academy will not be liable in any way to refund or pay for such expenses.
Transfer Policy
A participant may transfer to any other comparable class provided there is space available. There shall be no charge for the first transfer. A N1,000.00 fee per class may be imposed for more than 2 transfers.
Partial Attendance
A Certificate of Completion will be issued by PMA for a given course only if the participant does not miss more than 2 hours per course attended.
Note that if the conditions above are not met, Project Management Academy will not issue the participant a Certificate of Completion. In addition, not meeting the conditions listed above will render the ‘Pass the Exam’ guarantee (if any is given) for that particular course null and void.
Certified Project Manager Participants
Participants who have already obtained either a PMP™ or CAPM™ certification are not allowed to attend any of the exam preparation courses based on the certification that they already hold, i.e. PMP-certified project managers may not register for a PMP® exam preparation course, and CAPM-certified project managers may not register for a CAPM® exam preparation course. Participants who violate this policy will be asked to leave their respective registered class. No refund will be given in such cases.
Recording of Classes
Project Management Academy's courses are copyrighted. Visual and/or audio recording of the courses is strictly prohibited and legal action will be initiated for any violations.
